NASA has delayed the Artemis II mission, originally scheduled for March 6, 2026, due to a helium flow issue in the Space Launch System rocket's upper stage. The integrated rocket and Orion spacecraft were rolled back from the launch pad to the Vehicle Assembly Building at Kennedy Space Center for inspection and repairs. The rollback aims to preserve an April launch window, pending diagnosis and resolution. Artemis II will carry four astronauts on a roughly 10-day crewed flyby around the Moon, marking NASA's first human lunar mission since Apollo.
