Google is reportedly rolling out a new feature allowing personal Gmail users to change their @gmail.com username without creating a new account. The update aims to address long-standing user requests, enabling a new username while retaining all existing data, services, and subscriptions. Emails sent to the old address will continue to be delivered to the same inbox, and the old address can be used for login. Google has implemented limits, allowing a maximum of three changes per account, with a 12-month restriction between changes. The feature is gradually rolling out and may initially appear in specific regions or languages.
