The Telecom Regulatory Authority of India (TRAI) has mandated telecom operators to share AI-based spam detection data within two hours via a blockchain-based platform to enhance tracking and prevention of spam calls and messages. Operators must proactively act against suspected spam numbers, coordinating between originating and terminating networks. Additionally, numbers receiving five or more complaints within ten days may be blocked. These measures aim to reduce unsolicited communications and protect users from scams, with compliance required within 30 days of the February 27 directive.
