IIT Kharagpur Launches Applied AI School with $5 Million Philanthropic Support

IIT Kharagpur has launched the Jyoti Chatterjee School of Digital Engineering, Applied Artificial Intelligence, and Machine Learning, a research-focused initiative aimed at advancing AI innovation across sectors like healthcare, manufacturing, and smart systems. Supported by a $5 million philanthropic commitment from alumnus Dr Jyoti Chatterjee over five years, the school emphasizes industry-academia collaboration and operates under the Office of the Dean (Research Development). It integrates multidisciplinary expertise and existing healthcare and technology hubs to foster applied AI solutions.
