
India has made significant progress toward its 10-year goal of training 85,000 semiconductor design engineers under the Chips to Startups initiative of the India Semiconductor Mission. Advanced Electronic Design Automation tools from global companies are available in 315 academic institutions nationwide, enabling students to gain practical experience in chip design, fabrication, packaging, and testing. This program, now the world's largest open-access EDA training initiative, has recorded over 1.85 crore hours of tool usage, supporting India's efforts to build a skilled semiconductor workforce amid growing global industry demand.
