
India has made significant progress toward its 10-year goal of training 85,000 semiconductor design engineers under the Chips to Startups initiative led by the India Semiconductor Mission. Over 315 academic institutions now have access to advanced Electronic Design Automation tools from global companies, enabling students to gain practical experience in chip design, fabrication, packaging, and testing. This program has become the world's largest open-access EDA initiative, with more than 1.85 crore hours of tool usage, supporting India’s efforts to build a skilled workforce amid global semiconductor industry growth.
