Bengaluru Techie Uses AI System to Monitor Kitchen and Detect Alleged Theft

A Bengaluru-based tech enthusiast developed an AI-powered monitoring system, dubbed an "AI roommate," to oversee his kitchen activities. Using a camera and AI vision model, the system tracked his cook's actions, including food taken from the fridge and hygiene practices. After the AI flagged multiple instances of the cook allegedly stealing fruits, he terminated her employment. The creator addressed privacy concerns by processing face detection locally and plans to enhance the system's offline capabilities.
