TSMC has officially begun volume production of its 2-nanometer chips in the fourth quarter of 2025, utilizing its first-generation nanosheet transistor technology. The company states this process is the most advanced in the industry, offering significant improvements in performance, power consumption, and transistor density, particularly for AI and mobile applications. TSMC is also developing an enhanced version, N2P, for mass production in late 2026.
