Meta Platforms has entered a multi-billion-dollar agreement to rent Google's artificial intelligence chips, known as Tensor Processing Units (TPUs), to support AI model development. This multi-year deal complements Meta's recent chip acquisitions from AMD and Nvidia amid growing industry investment in AI infrastructure. Google is promoting TPU sales as part of its cloud revenue growth and has also partnered with an investment firm to lease TPUs to other clients. Both companies declined to comment on the deal.
