
India is finalizing rules for Wi-Fi offloading to enhance mobile connectivity, allowing smartphones to seamlessly switch data traffic to Wi-Fi networks, including PM-WANI hotspots. This initiative aims to reduce cellular network congestion, improve speeds in busy areas, and optimize spectrum use. The new framework will ensure uninterrupted calls and data services during network transitions, addressing the current lack of a standardized technical approach for Wi-Fi integration with mobile networks.
