Researchers have identified a new Android malware named Mantax Otax that can steal one-time passwords, spy on WhatsApp and Telegram chats, lock users out of their devices, and harass victims with intrusive pop-ups, audio, and videos. This malware spreads through malicious APK files outside Google Play and phishing campaigns. It requests extensive permissions, including Accessibility and device administrator access, enabling attackers to control infected phones and collect sensitive data such as SMS, call logs, contacts, location, and Google account details.
