Telangana School Principal Assaulted Amid Dispute Over Unauthorised Urdu Classes
In Telangana's Nizamabad district, the principal of Bharat Chandra High School was assaulted following protests over unauthorised Urdu lessons taught to primary students. Muslim parents had requested Urdu classes, which were briefly conducted by a Hindi teacher without official approval. Hindu parents and local BJP leaders opposed the lessons, alleging religious instruction. Police registered two FIRs: one against BJP members for assault and trespassing, and another against school staff for unauthorised teaching and promoting enmity. Investigations are ongoing.
