Gahlawat is accused of promising a Puducherry-based businessman favorable outcomes in a CBI probe into a counterfeit drug racket by leveraging his influence. The arrest follows a June trap operation that led to the detention of a Delhi Police inspector and others. Investigations continue with multiple premises searched and digital evidence seized.
