Whalefall Film Explores Fictional Scenario of Diver Swallowed by Sperm Whale
The film Whalefall, released in October 2026, depicts a scuba diver swallowed by a sperm whale, a scenario based on Daniel Kraus's 2023 novel. While sperm whales have throats wide enough to swallow a person, no recorded case exists of a whale swallowing a human. Experts note that surviving inside a whale would be extremely unlikely. The movie aims to inspire awe for whales rather than fear, contrasting with traditional man-eating animal stories.
