IMD Issues Orange and Yellow Rainfall Alerts in Multiple Kerala Districts
The India Meteorological Department (IMD) issued orange alerts for heavy rainfall in several districts of Kerala, including Idukki, Ernakulam, Thrissur, Malappuram, Kozhikode, Wayanad, Kannur, Alappuzha, and Kottayam. Yellow alerts were issued for other districts such as Thiruvananthapuram, Kollam, Pathanamthitta, Palakkad, and Kasaragod. Authorities advised residents in landslide- and flood-prone areas to relocate to safer places and cautioned against unnecessary travel and visits to water bodies and hilly regions until the warnings are lifted.
