Madhya Pradesh Experiences Uneven Monsoon with Heavy Rain and Heatwave Alerts
Madhya Pradesh is experiencing contrasting weather as the southwest monsoon advances unevenly across the state. While western and central districts like Dewas, Ujjain, and Indore have received heavy rainfall, including up to 118 mm in Dewas, eastern and northern districts such as Umaria and Sidhi continue to face severe heatwave conditions with temperatures reaching 42°C. The India Meteorological Department has issued heavy rain alerts for six districts and yellow alerts for several others, noting that the monsoon has covered only 15 of 55 districts so far, with overall rainfall below normal.
