Southern Railway is permanently increasing capacity on two Rameswaram route trains by adding AC Three-Tier coaches to the Mangaluru Central-Rameswaram Express and additional AC Two-Tier, AC Three-Tier, and Sleeper Class coaches to the Tambaram-Rameswaram Express, effective from early October 2026. Additionally, a one-way special train between Tambaram and Podanur will run on September 25. Separately, the KSR Bengaluru-Karwar Panchaganga Express will continue operating with five extra coaches until the end of January 2027.
