PM Modi Announces Compensation Following Lucknow Coaching Centre Fire
A fire at a coaching centre in Lucknow's Aliganj area resulted in 12 deaths and multiple injuries. Prime Minister Narendra Modi expressed condolences to the families of the deceased and wished a speedy recovery for the injured. He announced ex-gratia payments of Rs 2 lakh for each deceased's next of kin and Rs 50,000 for the injured from the Prime Minister's National Relief Fund. Rescue and relief operations are ongoing with emergency services deployed at the site.
