Mumbai Coastal Road North Section Expected to Complete by December 2028, Says CM Fadnavis
Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis inspected the Mumbai Coastal Road Project, announcing the north section from Versova to Bhayandar is expected to be completed by December 2028. The project aims to provide a signal-free route from Nariman Point to Bhayandar, easing congestion on the Western Express Highway, which currently handles 60% of Mumbai's traffic. The Bandra-Versova section is targeted for completion by March 2028. The government has secured environmental clearances and is undertaking compensatory mangrove plantations alongside construction. Officials and local representatives highlighted the project's potential to reduce travel time and improve connectivity in Mumbai's western suburbs.
