Security has been intensified in Ganderbal district, Jammu and Kashmir, ahead of the Mata Kheer Bhawani Mela scheduled for June 22, 2026, with police conducting area domination exercises around the temple to ensure safety for devotees and locals. Officials, including IGP V.K. Birdi, reviewed security measures focusing on crowd management, access control, and traffic. Additionally, preparations for the upcoming Amarnath Yatra starting July 3 include strengthened highway surveillance and Advance Security Tasking exercises to maintain vigilance along the route.
