Clashes Erupt in Jaipur During Nomad Communities' Reservation Protest
In Jaipur, protests by Nomad and Semi-Nomad communities demanding a 10% reservation quota escalated into violence after an indefinite sit-in and a Mahapanchayat at Vidyadhar Nagar Stadium. Following inconclusive talks with officials, protesters attempted to march to the Chief Minister's residence but were stopped by police barricades. Clashes ensued with stone-pelting from protesters and police responding with lathi charge and tear gas. Several people, including police and protesters, sustained minor injuries, and around 50 protesters were detained.
