A Bombay High Court-appointed panel has recommended installing a continuous Air Quality Index (AQI) monitoring station with real-time public data display at Mumbai's Kanjurmarg dumping ground, alongside strengthening the green belt and enforcing stricter landfill operations. The committee, which includes experts from IIT Bombay and NEERI, highlighted the need for urgent odour control and technological upgrades, proposing integrated waste-processing methods. Residents, however, demand relocating the facility at least 10 km away, citing health and environmental concerns due to its proximity to homes.
