International Kullu Dussehra Festival Combines Tradition and Global Cultural Performances
The International Kullu Dussehra festival in Himachal Pradesh runs from October 21 to 27, featuring a unique weeklong celebration that begins on Vijayadashami, unlike other regions. The festival includes the assembly of 347 local deities at Dhalpur ground, rooted in 16th-century traditions. This year’s event combines religious rituals with cultural performances from Indian and international artists, despite some geopolitical challenges affecting foreign participation. Officials emphasize enhanced organization and cultural unity through diverse artistic showcases alongside traditional deity worship.
