India Donates Emergency Medical Supplies to Support Ebola Response in Congo
India has donated emergency pharmaceutical supplies to support efforts to contain the Bundibugyo Ebola outbreak in eastern Democratic Republic of Congo. The consignment, received by Africa CDC's Eastern Africa Regional Coordinating Centre in Uganda, includes diagnostics, therapeutics, infection prevention materials, and case management support. Africa CDC expressed gratitude to India for its continued commitment to health security in Africa. The World Health Organization notes there are no approved vaccines or treatments for this Ebola strain, and ongoing conflict complicates containment efforts.
