Himachal Forest Department Partners with Private Firms for Green Adoption Scheme
The Himachal Pradesh Forest Department launched the Rajiv Gandhi Green Adoption Scheme to promote ecological restoration and increase green cover. Under this initiative, two private hospitality firms, Red Apple and Paradise Chateau, signed MoUs to adopt and maintain one hectare each for five years through CSR funding. The scheme aims to conserve biodiversity, enhance climate resilience, support soil and water conservation, and generate sustainable livelihoods, while ownership of forest land remains with the state government.
