New India Foundation Book Fellowship to Be Awarded Annually from This Year
The New India Foundation (NIF) Book Fellowship, previously awarded biennially, will now be given annually starting this year. The fellowship supports nonfiction books exploring post-1947 India, offering a monthly stipend, editorial support, mentorship, and community access. Governing board members Niraja Gopal Jayal and Srinath Raghavan highlighted that the annual cycle aims to provide more consistent support, nurture the growing field, and enhance the quality of nonfiction writing on India's transformations since independence.
