Chandigarh and Bhubaneswar Selected to Host 2027 Asian Relays and 2028 Asian Indoor Championships
Chandigarh and Bhubaneswar have been awarded hosting rights for major Asian athletics events by the Asian Athletics Association. Chandigarh will host the 2027 Asian Relays at the Sector 7 Sports Complex, marking its first major international athletics event in over 25 years. Bhubaneswar's Kalinga Stadium will host the 2028 Asian Indoor Championships and the 2028 World Indoor Championships. These decisions were made during the AAA council meeting in Hong Kong, reflecting India's growing role in continental athletics.
